Lake Ewart is the closest lake to most of the homes in Cambourne and is the only lake where fishing is permitted. A walk around this lake provides pleasant, relaxing views across the water and also takes in some areas of grassland and recently planted trees. Visitors are able to see a variety of wildlife including water birds, dragonflies, skylarks and wildflowers. There are a number of platforms that can be used for fishing or simply to get closer to the water and its wildlife.
This project has improved the surface of the cycle path from the entrance of the Country park around the north and east of Lake Ewart as well as improving access to the disabled fishing platform which has 4 stations. A total of 765m of path is involved. This is one of the main routes through the Country Park.
